CONDITIONS OF REPLACEMENT:
Once you have your puppy in your home you will have 48 hours to take your puppy to a Veterinarian. If you recieve your puppy on Friday, you will have until Tuesday to have this done. If the licensed Vet determines that the puppy has a genetic life threatening condition within the 48 hours, you will be offered a replacement puppy and in some cases your money refunded. For this to occur you will need written proof from the vet, contact us with it, and arrangements will be made for the puppies return. After 48 hours this contract will be voided. We are NOT responsible for the veterinary visit costs, this is something all responsible owners are expected to do to ensure they are receiving a healthy puppy. It is recommended at this time that a stool sample be taken to assure the puppy does not have any internal parasites. This is essential for the future health of the puppy! Internal parasites can occur at anytime.
NOTE ON NJ STATE LAW AND PET CARE RESPONSIBILITY:
NJ State law gives a 14 day grace period in which a puppy purchaser should take their newly purchased puppy to the vet. If you receive a puppy into your house hold and neglect to take it to a vet quite quickly, and wait 2 weeks to do it, you put yourself and your toy breed in a potentially serious situation! Toy breeds can become ill or contract an illness quite quickly, especially if they are left untreated for puppy internal parasites. One must keep in mind, especially if you own other pets, that swift treatment and prevention are the keys to keeping healthy animals.
Every dog I bring into my house hold is taken to the vet immediately. This insures that myself and my other animals are not being exposed to unnecessary things, which may have happened during transport or at the previous kennel or house hold. In my view if taking your animal to a veterinarian is too much of a financial burden or you just do not have the time to do it.......you may want to consider having the puppy in the first place. Having an animal is a big responsibility both emotionally and financially. A typical visit to a veterinarian can run from 75-150 dollars for a "normal" visit. A serious illness such as parvo or any other non typical visit can run 1500.00++ for hospilization and treatment. I don't want to scare anyone with these figures, but this financial responsibility is something you take on every time you open your home to a new animal. A puppy is WAY more than just a cute ball of fun! A toy breed may have a life span of up to 22 years.............please consider this as well. They are cute now but will become quite long lived adults!
SPECIAL NOTE ON TOY BREEDS:
Small breeds especially Chihuahua's, may encounter HYPOGLYCEMIA. This is a condition where the blood sugar may drop from shipment stress, being in a new home, and not being on the correct feeding schedule after changing homes. We highly advise keeping a tube of Nutri-Cal on hand at all times to ensure if your puppy becomes lethargic (floppy, tired), starts vomiting or seems more shaky than usual that you can bring the puppies sugar back to a normal level. Nutri-cal is in a tube and can be purchased at most pet stores. We have taken care to be sure any puppies here are not suffering from this and will be stable at the time of shipment. It is your responsibility once this baby reachs you that you give care should Hypoglycemia symptoms (low blood sugar) occur.
OTHER NOTES:
We will not be responsible for associated charges which may occur with moving a puppy to a new home, mental stress, loose stools, internal parasites, low blood sugar, and other stress related problems which can occur during transport and have nothing to do with good or bad breeding of the puppy. We also do not guarantee any puppies size or color as an adult, we can only estimate size by using a puppy birth sizing chart. Hernias of any kind are also not guaranteed as well as undecended testicals. We are not responsible for, nor replace puppies injured by the buyer, by vet malpractice, by vaccines, accidents, by other pets, by neglect (and we reserve the right to repossess a puppy if found so) or by the mishandling of the puppy by young children. DO make sure the puppy is not around stairs, on furniture or beds, and is watched closely outside as anything can happen, especially the capture of toy breeds by large birds!! Learning the correct potty training techniques is also your responsibility! DO realize a toy breed may NOT go out doors when it is raining. You will have to provide a pee pad or litter box to accommodate this.
CHILDREN AND TOY BREEDS:
We reserve the right to refuse the sale of our toy breeds to families with children. If for some reason a Chihuahua is expected to be 4 pounds or less an adult house hold with older children will be required. Small dogs love to be under foot and if not watched properly serious injuries or death could occur. Our dogs ARE raised around children but they are NOT the childrens dogs. Care is taken to ensure the saftey of our smaller ones. House holds with children will be under consideration.
SHIPPING:
Shipping charges will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Shipping will ONLY occur after the puppy is 12 weeks of age. Charges for shipping will range from 300-350 depending on the airline being used. Chihuahua's will only be shipped using Continental or American Airlines, these are the only 2 airlines with climate controlled pet areas. The higher shipping rate of 350 may be used with Chihuahua's if I decide the time of the year or size of the animal requires a direct flight. The shorter the shipping time the safer it is for these small puppies. We will not be responsible for loss, death, or injury during transport to the new home. This will be covered by the transport insurance we purchase.
We will not deal with puppy brokers, pet stores or Puppy Mills!!! We reserve the
right to refuse sale to anyone at anytime for any reason.
DEPOSITS ON EXISTING PUPPIES OR FUTURE LITTERS:
A 150.00 deposit is required to hold a pet puppy, 250.00 for a show/breeding puppy. If we do not have your money the puppy will be sold to the first person who places payment and is deemed fit for the care of that dog. The deposit is non refundable, it can however be used if the buyer wants to wait for another litter, the puppy is not a match for the buyer, or the puppy becomes unavailable. Be sure before you place payment that this is the puppy that you want and that it is allowed in your living arrangements. Payment can be made in cash, money order, cashiers check or by Paypal. Please NOTE if using Pay Pal INCLUDE 4% of the total cost to cover the Pay Pal fees.
